![]() The only way I see to do it easily and safely is with two people. The bike and my wallet will suffer a lot more than the price of the lift. I just never felt comfortable enough that the law of averages will get me at some point. I backed off the lift quickly and tried it again moving the bike a little to the right to see if I could have room enough to get the kickstand down. ![]() However, I almost dumped the bike trying to figure out how I was going to find a place to rest my feet while on the jack until I could get the bike stable.strike two! I am tall enough to flat foot my ST1300 on the ground. I rested for the evening and waited for the rain to subside on Sunday afternoon to try out the lift and see if it would raise my ~700 pound ST1300. The box said the lift was 6.5 inches high, but reality was almost 9 inches Strike one came when my Nissan Frontier would not clear the lift and allow me to straddle it for parking. All the bolts and nuts went together fine on the u-bolts an front tire clamp. About an hour of frustrating mechanic work fixed that problem. Eventually I figured out that the linkage to the oil pressure release on the jack was out of adjustment. ![]() The first problem was that the pump would not work and raise the lift. I bought the lift at Harbor Freight on Saturday afternoon, took it home, and removed the wooden crate.
